Rufco-Wrap is the key to controlling the inward movement of air and moisture vapor.
Building Science groups have suggested that today's housewrap material resemble standard bulding paper. The reason is to help reduce the amount of inward vapor movement caused by the natural migration of moisture-laden air.
Professionals install Rufco-Wrap
for these reasons:
- Breathable - more breathable than Grade-D Building Paper.
- See through design - allows for the location of sheathing and stud markings.
- Superior in strength - cross-laminated for more holding power.
- UV rated for 365 days - creates a longer working window.
- Meets or exceeds current building codes - installed with confidence since 1986
- Available in these popular sizes:
- 4.5' x 100'
- 5' x 200'
- 9' x 100', 150', 195'

Rufco-Wrap installs in a similar manner as other housewrap materials, with some helpful advantages.
- The unique contact clarity of Rufco-Wrap makes it possible to see studs and dark lines right through it.
- Begin at lower corner, unroll left to right with printed side out. Leave at lest 6" to 12" of Rufco-Wrap around corner.
- Raven Industries recommends that Rufco-Wrap should be attached to studs or structural materials by 1" plastic cap nails. Large galvanized roofing nails or 3/8" or larger crown staples may be used if local building code will allow.
- Fasten Rufco-Wrap every 12" to 18" along the horizontal header, sill plate and vertical studs. Extra fasteners should be place around window and door openings to be cut out.
- When starting another roll of Rufco-Wrap, allow at least 6" to 12 " of overlap.
- At each window opening, make one horizontal cut under header plate at top of opening. Make a vertical center cut from top of window opening 3/4 of the way down towards the bottom of the window opening. From the base of this cut, continue with two angled cuts towards each of the bottom corners of the opening. Fold the Rufco-Wrap inward, fastening it on the inside of the rough opening. Remove any excess.
- Install windows, doors and flashings in accordance with the manufacturers instructions.
- Overlap sill plate 6". (The sill plate is the major source of air infiltration.)
- If windows and doors are already installed, trim Rufco-Wrap as close to the frame as possible and seal all edges with Rufco-Wrap seaming tape.
- In two story applications, the lower level should be installed first with the top level installed second, allowing a 6" to 12" overlap.
- Use polyurethane or latex-based adhesives when attaching Rufco-Wrap to masonry type products.
- For ultimate energy savings and performance: Seal all seams, holes and window flashings with Rufco-Wrap seaming tape or equivalent. Rufco-Wrap should be covered with approved siding within 12 months. Rufco-Wrap is not intended to function as an exterior siding product.

Please Note:
- Rufco Wrap may also be applied directly to studs under the sheating or in a tilt wall construction prior to tilting into the vertical position. Be sure to allow 12" of overlap to attach to the adjacent walls.
- To obtain maximum effectiveness, Rufco-Wrap should be overlapped as recommended and sealed with tape or a quality polyurethane base caulk. This includes windows and along the foundation.
- Limit exposure to direct sunlight to six months to avoid possible wind and UV damage.
