RAVEN CONSTRUCTION TEAM UPDATE - December, 2011

Season’s Greetings from the Raven Industries Construction Team!

We hope as you enter into the last month of the year that you have found 2011 to be a rewarding year, albeit a challenging one, to be sure.

We have been witnessing a number of changes here at Engineered Films over 2011, some pertinent to the addition of new lines as well as changes to existing lines that will expand both our range of capabilities and also our overall capacity. Probably the most interesting of which is a large multi-layer coextrusion line that will allow us to produce wider width and thicker films with gas barrier properties. Barrier films are not new to us, but this will definitely expand our barrier capabilities, benefiting not only the Construction Market, but also markets such as Energy, Geo, Agriculture and Industrial Packaging. If you would like to stay informed of our announcements, updates and promotions, please subscribe to our email list by clicking here or going to our www.RavenEFD.com and clicking on the link to subscribe.

Since our last update, we have added Travis Burns and Chris Andrews to the Construction Team and they both come with strong sales and service backgrounds and are “ready to help” handle your construction film requests. Another personnel change to note, Rod Aasheim, who has been with the Construction Team since Spring of 2010 as National Market Specialist, is making a gradual transition back to the Industrial Market, getting back into concerns involving industrial packaging, films for converting, etc.

Over the past year, we have been offering to American Institute of Architects Members (as well as non-members) a continuing education course entitled “Critical Elements in Specifying Underslab Moisture and Gas Barriers”. We offer the course in person when possible, but due to limited numbers of travelers within the group, have also been offering the course via webinar. The course is good for one Health, Safety, and Welfare learning unit. If you are interested, please send us a note at efdconstruction@ravenind.com or visit the AIA/CES Education page on our website for upcoming webinar dates.

As to market conditions specific to construction, it’s no secret that things remain difficult out there. 2011 we feel, will shape up to be similar to 2010. Escalating costs of raw materials caused us to implement price increases throughout the Spring and Summer months, which we realize created additional challenges in an already tough arena. We do, however, remain committed to offering our valued customers a quality line of film products for the Construction Market, and as mentioned previously, are investing in the future so as to further solidify and expand our position as a leading manufacturer in this and other markets. We sincerely appreciate your business and support, and please feel free to contact us at any time with your construction film concerns, or otherwise. We want to close by wishing you a safe and happy holiday season with a prosperous new year!

At your service,

Steve, Becky, Travis and Chris - Raven Engineered Films Construction Team
